CHOOSING YOUR CRYSTALS
When choosing Crystals, take the time to feel them, if they talk to you, or something stands out about that Crystal, put it to one side and continue looking until you feel you would be happy having those particular Crystals for your method of healing, or just to have them in your collection. The list here is only a few Crystals that I have liked over the years, I don’t have all of them, some I don’t use, it goes in phases. I have my favourites that I stick to, sometimes while I am cleansing them I may feel that’s enough of this one for a while, so I put it to rest until I feel the need to use it again.
AMAZONITE Bringing Harmony and Universal Love, giving a sense of Balance, good for working with the crown chakra.
AMBER Provides soothing and positive energy to body, mind and spirit, promotes good positive thoughts, clears the emotional (third) chakra.
AMETHYST Good for meditation, connection to the mind, body and soul, helps access to your psychic abilities, nice crystal for insomnia.
ANGELITE A must have when working with the angels, great for the 5th chakra, relieves anger, good for absent healings.
AGATE There are quite a few different agates, all with different uses, here are general uses: provides strength and courage, giving insights to your creativity, stabilizing and balancing life force energy, blue agate for the 5th chakra.
AQUAMARINE Good crystal for getting things done, saying yes to projects, protection on all levels, being courageous.
AVENTURINE Balances the Male and Female, promotes responsibility, brings the mind, body and soul together.
AZURITE Good for meditation, heightens the psychic abilities, hearing, seeing and for the third eye.
APACHE TEARS Nice crystal for people who have lost loved ones, helping people to move on, helps very much in forgiving others and most important themselves.
BLUE TOPAZ Helps communication, clears and balances 5th chakra, strength in talking the truth, good for the creativity.
CALCITE Good for Healers to meditate before working, increases energy, also Optical Calcite for clearing and cleansing.
CELESTITE Soothes the throat chakra, aids communicating skills, gives hope to negativity and gives a sense of peace.
CHRYSOCOLLA Gives a feeling of balance, harmony and creates strength for the environment, also helps to cleanse. This is a nice crystal to have with you when doing earth cleansing on this planet.
CITRINE I love this stone, its great for abundance when used with Jade and Rose Quartz, keep them with you in your bag, gives positive energy, letting go of being negative, nice feeling of warmth and love, balance and energises all chakras.
COPAL Helps the learning powers of the mind, creates a state of consciousness, brings great energy to ones energy field, and activates crown chakra.
DIAMOND This is one stone that has many qualities, perfection, inspiration, purity, cleansing, and abundance. It’s a stone that is a great work horse for all occasions. It again is a wonderful stone for clearing the planet.
EMERALD Lovely healing stone, very gentle bringing loving energy to harmony, a sense of loyalty, helping the memory, helps learning retention, gives you a feeling of clarity.
FLUORITE Helps ones concentration, brings some stability and order into your daily life, gives you an awareness of others, sometimes I use this crystals with the Emerald.
GARNET I love to use this for the root chakra, creating and even flow of energy that stabilises the frame of mind, good for commitment, unconditional love for self and others, grounding.
GOLD A Gold ring is useful when clearing the body through the chakra system. For me it creates some sort of vortex energy, bringing in very clear positive energy, super healing metal.
HEMATITE Activates the mind and its creativity, provides good grounding qualities.
HERKIMER DIAMOND Good for clairvoyance and Psychic awareness, good for the mind to retain information.
JADE A good luck and abundance crystal, protection, being gentle, creating peace and harmony within, great to put under your pillow for dreaming.
JASPER This stone is for Healers and Psychics, gives good protection and is great for grounding.
KUNZITE A good working crystal, peace, listening, communicating, creates a sense of love and wellbeing, very good for meditating, getting rid of negativity.
KYANITE This crystal helps to bring peace and tranquillity in meditation and everyday living, good chakra balancer, nice to put this crystal under your pillow, helps the remembering of dreams. This is one of those crystals never need cleaning.
LABRADORITE Intuition, awareness, energy from other (Extra Terrestrial) light of the universe
LAPISLAZULI Good protection, helps with creative expression, knowledge, wisdom.
LEPIDOLITE Helps in transition and changes that people are going through for the moment, hope, and stability.
MALACHITE Spiritual development, prepares the way for transition and goals, loyalty, seeing both sides, helps balance the 3rd chakra.
MOLDAVITE Extra terrestrial, multidimensional clarity.
MOONSTONE This is a very nice Crystal for the female energy, good for intuition and the lunar, emotional expression. A nice crystal for balancing and creating body rhythms.
OBSIDIAN Grounding, protection, clears negativity; helps see changes that need to take place.
ONYX Self control, connecting back to centre, helps the grieving process, intuition.
OPAL There are many types, the Australian opals are very strong for grounding, connection to your creativity, inspiring for the imagination.
PERIDOT Protection, aids in healing.
PETRIFIED WOOD Provides grounding to move on, good for transformation and changes.
PYRITE Protects from negativity, protection, good to have with you on a full moon and new moon, nice stone for memory and intellect.
CLEAR QUARTZ Crystal of consciousness, great for cleansing.
RHODOCHROSITE Unconditional Love, nice for all chakra balancing.
RUBY Good for nurturing, generating wealth, connecting to spirituality.
RUTILATED QUARTZ Good for energising, clairvoyance inspiration.
SAPPHIRE Prosperity, peace, joy and beauty.
SELENITE (GYPSUM) Good judgement, insights, clarity, awareness.
SILVER Cleansing, connects spirit and soul, balance.
SMOKEY QUARTZ Good meditating crystal, clears negativity, good for balancing and clearing 1st and 7th chakra.
SODALITE Helps to speak the truth, being efficient, connecting people in communication.
SUGILITE Perfection, inspiration, inspiring confidence, breaks down destructive emotions.
TIGEREYE Great strength, good earth grounding, clear insights, represents Sun and Earth.
TOPAZ Beauty, love, creativity, success, great joy.
TOURMALINE Balancing and grounding, self confidence.
TURQOISE Prosperity, strength and grounding, protection.
ZIRCON Pure, clearness, virtue, cleansing.
This list of Crystals is fairly small, there are a lot more, so enjoy searching and finding those Crystals that you feel comfortable with, take what you feel right for you from the information written about them. Some people say use the colour of the crystal that corresponds with the colour of the chakras, eg. Garnet for Root Chakra, Sapphire for Throat Chakra etc., I like to work with them and putting my own preference for other Crystals too.
